Nadia's winning interpretation - Sent: Wednesday,
October 05, 2005 6:16 PM:
"The church is in the centre of all activity. The blue space
represents the serenity and peace one finds in the church: the other
oblong designs represent life, and the chaos and activity that goes
around the church."

"At first glance it seems to be semi-abstract work. In my opinion
those boxes symbolize the houses surrounding "The Dome".
In many villages we find these views but Chris interpreted it very
well.. Keep it up! Two Thumbs UP!!"

"For me it is the feeling which a work of art provokes which matters,
rather than an interpretation which a viewer may have of such works.
In my opinion, The Dome represents a typical multi-coloured and
multi-faceted Maltese village. Built around the parish church, with
an imposing dome which takes central stage in The Dome, this work
shows also the facades of adjacent buildings nearby."

"A very typical Maltese theme, with a typical dome of a church being
represented, surrounded by buildings and roof tops in typical Maltese
ambience. The colours are vivid, and representing of a colourful
Mediterranean culture whilst all the composition of the painting
revolves round the centre theme of the dome which is generally also
the place where there is the village centre, life and culture are
all centered in the village square, showing that 'the church' might
still have a huge influence on maltese society by having the dome/church
at the centre of their lifes."

"I feel that the Dome has a special superior place, the boxes represent
the different times in which the Dome ( i feel Mdina) has gone true..
having the red at time of conflict and the blue at time of victory.
In my opinion it is a very positive work of art boasting lots or
energy"
Charles J. Farrugia - Saturday, October

"Society is made up of distinct realities. Contrasts, values, perspectives.
One fits into the other. One is dependent on the other. One is complimentary
to the other. Yet, all these shades come together in man's quest
for a higher value. The value of spirituality signified by the dome
- the dome that brings together the different colours and shades,
that provides a space for all shapes to fit in into unity and serenity"
Thank you all for participating!
