Born
in 1976, Richard discovered a passion for doodling and cartooning
at an early age. In secondary school he started off a school comic
called 'The Monthly Bluff' which was banned on the first issue,
domesticated on the second and written-off by the School Authorities on the third. At 16 years of age
he contributed several gags to the newspaper Il-Gens and subsequently a few sporadic ones
to The Times and In-Nazzjon. He eventually completed a Diploma
in Cartoon Drawing and worked on various yet again sporadic illustrations for local
publications. In 1997 he launched this site manicmalta.com - as
an art, music & entertainment guide. Manicmalta satisfied this massive craving for artistic expression while events had by then forced him into an otherwise
dull professional life in technology. No particular artistic destination. Just drifting along.
