International Premier Akasha Dance Theatre

Image
International Premier Akasha Dance Theatre with an international company of artists from Malta, UK, Malaysia and India.  5 artists … 5 energies…colliding in the ‘in-between’ of a vacuum… Sound and Space penetrated by a haunting voice.

Akasha is developed in collaboration with Paradigm Wellness and mavinkhooDance, supported by the British Council and co-commissioned by the Manoel Theatre.

International dancer and choreographer Mavin Khoo delves into the philosophical concept of space.  Akasha is a contemporary dance theatre piece that explores the notion of ether as signified through the pluralism of its possibilities, air, spirit, energy. It frames its content from the abstracted framework of Vedic interpretation.

Researched and developed in Malta, the work includes an international company of performers and artistic collaborators (UK/Malaysia/Malta) under the direction of Khoo.

Akasha signifies the meeting point of five energies that are between worlds. In their personal struggles of in…

Maltese singer-songwriter and model Corinna, has just released her latest song which is called ‘Battle of Wills’.  She is one of Malta’s freshest faces in the local music industry.  Having already three singles out, considering she began singing in her late teens, for Corinna this didn’t mean to stop here.

Her first song was “Someone New”, for which she had received positive feedback about this song and also many views on youtube.  The song was also played in some of Paceville clubs, and also on various local radio stations.  It was also on the top in the ‘Malta’s Bay Top 10’ charts for weeks.  By means of this song, Corinna was also nominated to take part in the Bay Music awards.  This was one of the best experiences she has ever had, as she had to perform in front of a large audience.  Later, she released her second song “Safe”, also together with Dj Toby, which was also played on the local radio stations.  Corinna had several gigs both in Malta and Gozo, in which she sang both of h…

The Third Annual 24 hour Charity Games Marathon Returns

Image
This year players will raise much-needed funds for The Island Sanctuary and Gozo SPCA.
Saturday 29 September will see the return of the popular 24-Hour Games Marathon in Naxxar. Having successfully raised thousands of Euro for cancer charities in 2010 and 2011, this year’s event will be dedicated to securing funds for animal charities – specifically The Island Sanctuary and Gozo SPCA.

Participants will spend the 24-hour stretch playing a range of board and card games – as well as a 24-hour poker tournament, having already secured individual sponsorships for their efforts.

“There is a brilliant buzz about the event,” says Polly March, who has organised it in her Naxxar home for the past two years. “It’s a lot of fun but is always for a good cause. So far we’ve raised over €8,000 for the Malta Hospice Movement, and this year we hope to generate some much-needed funds for our furry friends.”

Those keen to take part are welcome to contact Polly on polly.march1@gmail.com for more informatio…

New Single and Album Direction for Clinton Paul

Image
One of Malta’s most recognized faces in the music industry is without doubt 29 year old singer-songwriter Clinton Paul.

Having already a debut album up his sleeve with a string of well known tracks from it such as “Rebellion”, “Robot” and “Fashionista”, for Clinton Paul this didn’t mean to stop here.

After releasing his sixth single from the “I Know Who I Am Now” debut album last May - i.e. "Fashionista" - and promoting it on various TV programmes and events throughout this Summer, Clinton Paul was already thinking ahead. He was already writing new material for his 2nd Studio Album that is scheduled to come out next year. In fact, the first single from this yet still unnamed Album was released Thursday September 19th. The track is called “Blackout”.

When one listens to “Blackout”, one can agree that the sound is typically a Clinton Paul sound. However, the track is quite mature and flirty when compared to what we have already heard from the artist till now. The song also introd…
