Romeo and Juliet Live from the Bolshoi Theatre

Showing exclusively at the Eden Cinemas for one night only on Sunday 12 May 2013 at 5pm is Yuri Grigorovich stunning ballet, Romeo and Juliet. Live and direct from the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, William Shakespeare play has been famously transformed, making it one of the most popular ballets in the world. With music written by Sergei Prokofiev, Romeo and Juliet is considered to be Prokofiev most valued work, featuring high melodic inspiration and an outstanding variety of rhythms. Scenery and costumes by Simon Virsaladze continue to bring this legendary love story to life. 

The ballet tells the passionate story of Romeo and Juliet as they fall madly in love from their first encounter.  Love soon turns into tragedy when the young lovers discover that they each belong to the two rivalry families, the Capulets and the Montagues. Known for being one of Shakespeare most outstanding plays, Grigorovich ballet surely does great justice to the playwright celebrated great romance featuring Bolshoi Principal Alexander Volchkov as Romeo and Leading soloist Anna Nikulina as Juliet.

Bringing out intense and powerful emotions, as well as giving the audience that authentic feel of the Bolshoi Theatre, Eden Cinemas continues to enhance the experience through dimmed theatre lighting and amplified sound. Tickets for Romeo and Juliet are priced at 23 euros per adult and 10 euros for individuals under the age of 16.
