Sports and Arts Festival‏

Breaking Limits is a Non Governmental Organization, which work towards  rights and inclusion of persons with disability. All members of Breaking Limits work tirelessly to safe guard these rights.

Since its setup the NGO embarked on numerous activities, even on political level. These success are all merit of the much dedicated teams within its umbrella.

Breaking Limits believes so much in the abilities of persons with disability, it was decided to host an event where it could display the potential of different disabilities.

During this occasion there will be Wheelchair Sports a Live Concert, BBQ, Public Debates and various workshops as well as displays of works in pottery by disabled persons.

This massive Festival is sponsored by Youth in Action Programme.

Prize Boxing Promotions will hold their third show of 2013. It shall be held at the Dolman Oracle Arena on the 30th August 2013. This show has 12 contests, 3 of which are professional. What a fight card. All semi-pros will be competing for National rankings, while female Swedish fighter Mickela Mayers is in battle for a winner takes all fight.

Again, Semi Pro bouts are sanctioned by our friends the Independent Boxing Association IBA based in the UK, while the Malta Boxing Commission will be providing the ringside officials and sanctioning of the pro fights. 89.7 Bay Celebrating over 55,000 likes on Facebook

On Saturday 10 August 2013, 89.7 Bay hosted Like Me All Over at Numero Uno for the many listeners that helped the station reach over 55,000 likes on Facebook. The successful turnout exceeded expectations with well over 2000 people attending, making it a massive night out for all 89.7 Bay fans in Malta.

Clubbers partied the night away with music being played by 89.7 Bay very own DJs - Ian Lang, Simon Pisani, Daniel Testa, Nate and Ben Glover. As part of the celebrations, partygoers were treated to numerous free prizes as well as Bay merchandise. Other surprises on the night included Bay very own Facebook Wall at Numero Uno, where fans were given the chance to win even more prizes.

Invites for party were made available from Eden Cinemas, Eden SuperBowl, Celio, Tom Tailor and Tally Weil. Get Funky 70 Cowboys and Indians

Sunset Boat Party.

GET FUNKY is about that space where deep meets groove and where electronic music meets fun.  On Saturday 31st August we are taking you to another rip-roar water adventure around the Maltese coasts whilst we solve some unfinished business with some Cowboys and Indians so go find that cowboy hat or some Indian feathers.

Indian chief Miss Roberta will be playing a solid 4hr set alongside her fellow Cowboy friends Reni and Kenneth Forseth.

As the previous boat party we will be sailing the Horn Blower and leaving from Bugibba Jetty at 6.30pm just in time for sunset.

Please note that the Horn Blower capacity is strictly limited to 250 people only and as usual tickets will sell out in just a couple weeks, so therefore dont leave it up for the last minute as you might get disappointed.

The Malta Page Awards 2013 Facebook

Saturday 17 August 2013 was the final day of the fourth edition of The Malta Page Awards 2013. The Malta Page Awards is a series of awards given out to locally-created Facebook Pages that receive the most likes by the general public. This year awards held between 31 July and 17 August, 2013.

The first five days of these Awards were dedicated to the nomination process. In all took part in these Awards 177 Maltese Facebook Pages, for which 32,582 people voted. This year for the second consecutive year the current affairs page Malta Dizastru TOTALI won the edition with more than 8,900 likes. Last year Malta Dizastru TOTALI won the edition with more than 4,800 votes.

The patriotic Maltese language page Kelma Kelma by Dr. Michael Spagnol closely followed in the second place, with more than 5,300 likes, and fast-food page Malta Burgers came in third with more than 4,200 likes. Birgufest is a very popular event in Malta that takes place each year in the beautiful city of Birgu, also known as Vittoriosa.  The 2013 Birgufest will be held between 11 and 12 October 2013 and this is your chance to discover one of the oldest and most historic town in Malta. Zabbar Music Festival

The Zabbar Music Festival will consist of three big open-air concerts staged on two nights Friday 30th August and Saturday 31st August 2013 between 21.00 and 00.00. They will take place along Labour Road in Zabbar the main road leading to the Zabbar centre.

The event will be free of charge. Donations for Puttinu Cares will be collected on both days.  This will be the first edition of this event. No other events of this style and scale have been ever held in Zabbar.

Flute Duo Concert

The Edinburgh-based Maltese flute duo, Laura Cioffi and Clara Galea will be holding a concert before they leave Malta for another academic year. They are both recipients of the Ian Tomlin Malta Music Scholarship and are currently reading for a BMus Hons at Edinburgh Napier University.

Concert will take place at the St. Catherine of Italy Church in Valletta. Repertoire for this concert will be varied from Baroque to contemporary with composers such as Purcell, Mozart, Mercadante and Mower.

The Voca People are back

The Voca People is an innovative performance and one of the few acts in the world that combines singers and beat box performers to form an entire orchestra without musical instruments. Siggiewi Grapes Festival

The Siggiewi Local Council is for the second year running organising the Festa Gheneb - Grapes Festival - a unique, family-oriented event aimed at sharing the enjoyment and appreciation of the annual local vendemmia grape harvest from vineyards situated in Siggiewi.

The event is organized in close cooperation with Vitimalta, the largest grape producer organisation in Malta This year event is also being supported by the Malta Tourism Authority and the Parliamentary Secretariat for Culture and Local Government.

Boasting more than 530,000 square metres of vines, Siggiewi is the locality with the highest number of vineyards. An estimated 400 families from Siggiewi are directly involved in the planting and upkeeping of various types of vines. This year edition will be held on Sunday 25 August from 6pm till late.
