London based artist David Orme`s series Peripeteia

Studio 104 is pleased to present an exhibition of prints and collages from London based artist David Orme’s series Peripeteia. For this exhibition, a number of new works are to be displayed with earlier printed works, continuing an oeuvre depicting awkward compositions that engender the uncanny and absurd.
Each work in this exhibition attempts to present the viewer with a connection. Orme’s muddled representations, while alluding to allegory, are obscured by duplicity. While some works imply a story or suggest a theme, other works evolve into precarious, holistic arrangements, fragmented and more abstracted. The delicate process of cutting and pasting these hieroglyphic sections suggests vulnerability and a sense of transience.

Exhibition Opening Times 8 February 2014 to 8 March 2014 Tuesday to Friday     11.00 - 5.00pm Saturday                    11.00-2.00pm

Directions: Just down the road from the Embassy Shopping Complex and Cafe Jubilee in Valletta…

Jesus Christ Superstar - Live at MCC Valletta this April

Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera that needs no introduction. Written and composed by Tim Rice and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jesus Christ Superstar is one of the most successful musicals of all time, having more than 3350 repeated performances when it was first introduced in London. Indeed, Jesus Christ Superstar is as well-known and frequently performed as The Phantom of the Opera, Cats and Evita, which also form part of Webber’s portfolio of works.

The musical portrays the last seven days of Jesus Christ’s life, highlighting his arrival in Jerusalem, expulsion of merchants from the Temple, the Last Supper, Judas’ betrayal, the judgments handed down by King Herod and Pontius Pilate, and of course, the crucifixion.

Malta Arts Events is very proud to be showcasing this timeless musical, through the powerful performances of seasoned artists Dušan Vitázek, Petr Gazdík and Ivana Vaňková, members of the Brno City Theatre in the Czech Republic.

We invite you to attend this thrilling event…
