Ugly Beauty: Sandro Zerafa plays the music of Thelonious Monk

The Strada Stretta Concept presents 'Ugly Beauty: Sandro Zerafa plays the music of Thelonious Monk', in collaboration with Valletta 2018 Foundation and under the artistic direction of Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci.

Thelonious Monk was one of the pioneers of be-bop and one of the most influential figures in the 20th century. Together with Bud Powell, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie, he helped reshape modern jazz. An iconoclast, an eccentric and an innovator, Monk and his angular compositions epitomize the sound of modern jazz. Sandro Zerafa, a Maltese guitarist residing in Paris will team up with local bass player Oliver Degabriele and French drummer Lionel Boccara in an homage to this unique figure in 20th century music.

  1. Excellent staff -- very helpful as well as knowledgeable. I had my personal make-up done for an event at this location plus they did an outstanding work that is about half what you would spend a professional make-up designer, and the outcome was just like strong learn more
