The business world of the twenty first century is a fast moving place indeed.
The need for serviced
apartments in the UK's major cities is greater than at any point in history
people from around the world are assigned to live and work away from home for
periods of time. Essentially, a serviced apartment is a property which can be
rented by the day, week or month and is therefore suitable for anyone who has
to temporarily relocate for work. Longer stays are often rewarded with more
economical rates.
The highest demand is for London
apartments. London attracts visitors from all over the world and is home
to the majority of Britain's largest companies. The housing market there is
one of the most expensive on the planet so it's little wonder most companies
would rather put guests up in a rented apartment than invest in a permanent
property. Popular locations for serviced apartments in London are generally
within reach of the financial quarter - often in and around Docklands.
In the north of England, Manchester
apartments are in high demand as the city booms. One popular location is
Didsbury,
in the south of the city, which offers a huge range of apartments in converted
industrial buildings. The Didsbury area is very popular among the young and
creative population of Manchester, which is growing by the year. Similarly booming
is the demand for Newcastle
apartments as the 'capital of the North East' enjoys a 21st Century renaissance
as a hub of digital creativity. Indeed, the city council has a stated goal of
making Newcastle the UK's first 'Science
City'. Interestingly, being in the shadow of the Pennines makes Newcastle
one of the driest cities in the UK, although the nightlife is famous for being
anything but!
If Newcastle is the capital of the north east, Birmingham is the capital of
the Midlands. The engine of the industrial revolution, the city has a long and
proud history of engineering and was once known as 'the workshop of the world'.
A great number of high-end Birmingham
apartments have sprung up along the riverside in recent years and are inhabited
by the city's young and growing media elite. Birmingham is also a hub of finance
in the UK - two of Britain's largest banks (Lloyds TSB and HSBC) originated
in the city.
Arguably the most important city in the west of England is Bristol. Bristol
apartments are in high demand as the city is home to one of the most creative
populations in the UK. Bristol is famously laid back and is has a beautiful
location, seated on the River Avon. There is proof that Bristol was inhabited
as long as 60,000 years ago, although the serviced apartments in the city date
back no more than a few hundred years.
