Sliema Scouts

To really discover for yourself what Scouting is all about, get down to Ghar id-Dud promenade, Sliema between Friday 31 July and Sunday 2 August 2009 for ‘Iljieli Scoutin’.
Five scout groups from Mellieha, Naxxar, San Gwann, Sliema and St Julians will begin preparing this event on Thursday, 30 July, ready for its opening on Friday evening. This event is being coordinated by 1st Sliema Scout Group (Bernard’s Own) which is currently celebrating it’s Centenary. There will be a number of interactive displays, including games and live demonstrations at which scouts and the general public can try their hand. A photographic exhibition to record Sliema’s 100 Years of Scouting is also being setup.
St Julians Scout Group will be holding their annual Camp-A-Float for the entire period from Thursday to Sunday, setting up their tents on a platform in Spinola Bay.
Back on dry land on the Sliema Front, the Scouts are planning much more interactive activities: You can test your skills on a climbing wall or even have a go at a bungee run. The Cub sections are catering specifically to the under-11s, with Cub games, songs and even parachute teamwork.
