SCAR will be releasing their second album - Breaking Radio Silence, this weekend. The album features their latest hit single - Mind The Gap, which just hit the number one spot on the Bay Malta Radio Charts, and includes smash hits - All My Life and Stolen. SCAR are Konrad Pule on vocals, guitars and keyboards, David Cassar Torregiani on lead guitars and Michael Scicluna on bass guitars. Breaking Radio Silence is a follow up to SCAR debut album released in 2003, which had won the 2002-2003 Best Album Production award at the Malta Music Awards while working with David Vella at Temple Studios in Malta. To maintain their great partnership and evoke similar success SCAR teamed up with producer David Vella once more, this time also bringing in Luuk Cox of Shameboy fame to mix the tracks. Since they started off in 2001, SCAR music enjoys constant airplay, topping the local radio charts whilst also experiencing exposure on various prominent foreign stations including a signature tune on RAI in Italy. PRS Guitars, one of the leading guitar makers in the world, also recognised their potential in 2008, endorsing them and featuring them prominently on their website as a promising upcoming band. SCAR were the first established local rock band to make it to the final of the Malta Song for Europe Festival in 2007 and were widely pipped as favourites among avid neutral followers of the event where they achieved a creditable top six finish. Almost 4 years in the making Breaking Radio Silence has been somewhat a labour of love for the band members. Writing and recording over such a span of time can be difficult to stay the course, and numerous tracks have not made the final cut. Although this period saw a number of drummers come and go within ranks, the material on Breaking Radio Silence is an evolution rather than a revolution. Rhythmically and melodically the tracks are leaps ahead of the debut album, showing that patience is truly a virtue worth following. Naturally the band is very excited about the finished product and where it might take them. Breaking Radio Silence is available at all leading music stores, and also online at www.scar.com.mt. SCAR will be performing next at Rookies Bar in Bugibba, on Friday 6 November.
