Photo from Manicmalta Interview (See articles). Manicmalta was launched in 1997 and has been included on 000s of flyers ever since. The aim has always been the same "the free sharing of event information" with two main objectives "To give budding organisers a chance" and "To facilitate the exchange of feedback and ideas"; all this to help organisers fine tune their product to give customers a better service next time round. May our efforts continue to provide added value to the leisure industry for years to come!

And did you know?:

Malta Jazz Festival - Annual:
Every July a popular jazz festival enlivens the 16th-century UNESCO World Heritage Site of Valletta, capital of Malta, for three summer nights. Established in 1990, the festival attracts world-renowned jazz musicians to perform on the Grand Harbour of this beautiful, seaside town.
Past performers have included Al Di Meola, Diana Krall, Chick Corea, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Wayne Shorter, and the festival always presents an eclectic range of musical talent.

The venue for the concerts, Ta'Liesse, is beside the Grand Harbour, below the floodlit bastions of Malta's baroque fortress walls. As it's an open-air venue, tickets can be bought on the day, or booked in advance from the festival website.

City of Valletta - Daily
During the Historic Cities Festival (October) the town really comes alive, with pageants, processions and concerts taking place against the backdrop of Valletta's spectacularly-lit fortress walls.

Beheading of St John the Baptist - Daily (not Sun):
The painting depicts the moment in Biblical history where St John is beheaded by King Herod to satisfy the blood lust of the seductive dancer, Salome. The scene is the courtyard of a prison and the grisly murder is observed by two other prisoners looking through a grille, while a young woman and a old crone stand ready to take the severed head and put it on the waiting platter. The blood flowing from St John's neck drips towards the bottom of the frame and in its red stream, Caravaggio has signed his name.
