Feast of the Assumption - Aug 2005 (annual) Victoria, Gozo:
The festa season officially kicks off with the Feast of St Publius in Floriana (just outside the capital city Valletta) on 13 April and runs through till September.
Our Lady of Victories Festa - 8 Sep 2005 (annual) - Ta'Liesse:
On 8 September 1565, the Ottoman forces who had been besieging the Valletta, in what became known as the Great Siege, gave up and sailed home. In commemoration of this important day, a rowing regatta takes place in the Grand Harbour on what is a Maltese public holiday.
