Eden Comedy Club does it Again

A theatre packed with laughter as the Eden Comedy Club does it again.

Four critically acclaimed British comedians took to the stage at Eden Cinemas on Friday, 10 February 2012 as they performed to a sold out theatre for Eden Comedy Club second Stand-Up Comedy Night.

The highly anticipated event was sponsored by Mr. Potato Crisps, and featured a quirky line-up, which included the man behind the Tinky Winky costume – Dave Thompson - who served as MC for the night. The audience was left in stitches at every turn, as his cheeky wit and effortless charm mesmerized the crowd.

Notoriously spontaneous, Matt Price was the opening act for the night - entertaining the crowd with his audience walkabouts, enticing story-telling and deep, commanding tone.  His presence filled the room instantaneously.  Andrew Watts followed his act with an enticing blend of honest storytelling and dark humour. The Oxford graduates pompous appearance and soft, almost shy tone paved a set of expectations which complimented the comedians sharp sense of humour, intellect and challenging nature. This unusual set had the audience hooked from the very start.

The unique blend of comedic styles drew to an end with the internationally beloved, James Dowdeswell, whose description by The Times as a quirky impressionist is no less than perfectly fitting.

Following the great success of the first two events, Eden Comedy Club has decided to host regular Stand-Up Comedy events throughout the year. The event will take place four times a year, with the next show scheduled for May 2012.
