Welcome Spring Festival 2012

Many people, young and old alike are expected to converge at Kennedy Grove, Salina Park on Sunday 4th March 2012 for the Welcome Spring Festival. Qawra Access Centre, Kunsill Lokali San Pawl il-Baħar, the Ministry for Internal and Parliamentary Affairs, the Ministry for Justice, Public Consultation and the Family and the Malta Tourism Authority are once again inviting everyone for an entertaining and awareness full day event.

The Welcome Spring festival will open its doors at 10am with the participation of more than twenty organisations and entities who are contributing for the well being of the locality of St. Pauls Bay. These organisations will grace all who visit with activities aimed for all - Games, sport demonstrations, alternative drinking promotion through mocktails, educational activities, performances by local artists, Kids play areas, and many more fun and interesting activities.

This event is being organised to celebrate the positive aspects of the locality of St. Pauls Bay which also include Qawra, Bugibba, Burmarrad, Xemxija, Wardija and part of Bidnija. Local NGOs and other entities will be promoting their positive work whilst creating awareness on how the general public may benefit from their respective efforts.

Apart from being a fun and interesting day out for all the family, the Welcome Spring Festival is a tool for enhancing the community feeling of the said localities and extending it out to all other Maltese families from other localities. The synergy between NGOs, other entities and the local people gained with this kind of project aims to strengthen the community spirit thus enforcing active citizenship.
