End of Summer Music Festival

Stageline Entertainment in collaboration with Jagged House announced the launch of  the End of Summer Music Festival which is to be held on the 7th September 2012 at the grounds of St Margaret College Verdala Cospicua at a press conference held at Cargo , Vittoriosa Waterfront on Monday 13 August 2012.

This is going to be a unique festival where five leading artists will come together in one massive event as an end of summer music festival offering live performances and an atmosphere most music lovers are used to witnessing at overseas festivals. The confirmed artists for the festival are none other than Tribali, Ira Losco, Airport Impressions, The Rifffs and Brikkuni. Considered as icons in their respective genres,  the choice of artists also reflects a wide spectrum of music ranging from world music , folk, rock, pop , Ska,  and all the cross over’s in between.

Jagged house Director Howard Keith said - This is a first for the Maltese to have so many top local artists perform full Live shows . We’ve made sure to have all the technical aspects covered offering nothing but a high end show with a view of having around 120 people setting up this event. This of course involved a big investment but the timing could not have been better and I doubt there will ever be a better time when all the respective artists are peaking prior to, or following, their album releases.

Following a string of successful big concerts starting from the Blues festival in Australia to their jam-packed concerts  this summer, Tribali  in the course of promoting their third successful album The Traveler, are undoubtedly the biggest live band currently in Malta marking this festival as their last show this summer.  Ira Losco who needs no introduction has just launched her brand new hit single What I’d Give - enjoying massive support both locally and overseas. Following a hiatus this will be Ira Losco’s first public appearance this year where the artist is expected to give a sneak preview of what to expect from her much anticipated new album. The popular Maltese rock band Airport Impressions with a string of successes for 2 consecutive years, sweeping all awards, will be marking this as their last concert before they launch their 2nd album early next year. The Rifffs who are not only considered iconic locally but also quoted as the one of best SKA bands in Europe, have  just come back from a successful tour in Europe .Taking some time off from the studio just before their second album release, The Rifffs will be performing a number of new tracks from their forthcoming album. Last but not least,  if there’s a band specialising in cutting satire and social commentary then it must be the Maltese folk act Brikkuni who have just released their second album entitled Trabbok  combining  the clever use of the Maltese language and Indie Folk.

The venue which has been carefully chosen is one of the largest and uniquely positioned schools which also forms part of Malta’s historical heritage - the Cottonera bastions. From the venue one could look over Malta as this is the highest point of the south. Miriam Fiorini and Johann Scerri as the organizers of this festival expressed great satisfaction to host such a prestigious event in Cospicua. We had a successful concert last summer with Tribali in Cospicua where over 3,500 people attended and we’ve had nothing but good feedback . This encouraged us to take a musical event one step further this year. We are aware of the responsibility we have and the high standards to be met by the respective artists so we wont’ be cutting any corners. This will definitely be an event not to be missed. This concert is well timed in view of the fact that all the performing artists simultaneously are at their peak having recently released highly acclaimed albums or are leading up to much anticipated album releases.

Besides features such as a massive stage, impressive light and sound systems, there will also be various food stalls, bars, a holistic area, a market, an official merchandise stand and an elevated VIP area.

There will be 3 types of tickets on sale. The pre- gate standard tickets at 13 Euro, the VIP tickets are 35 Euro -  VIP ticket holders will be treated to a pre-concert party where they will get to meet all the participating artists and will be held at Cargo Bar and Restaurant Vittoriosa Waterfront from 8.30pm.
