End of Summer Music Festival Update

The End of Summer Music Festival is going to be a unique festival where five leading artists with different genres, will come together in one massive event offering live performances and an atmosphere most music lovers are used to witnessing at overseas festivals.

Regretfully THE RIFFFS who were also scheduled to participate in the festival would not be performing due to a family death this week. Electronic Indie band DOLLS FOR IDOLS were kind enough to accept the organizer’s short notice invitation in view of this unfortunate circumstance.

The line up of the festival has been announced in the following order: ‘DOLLS FOR IDOLS’ who ‘s  a young and dynamic alternative band who have hit the scene with their catchy single  and quirky video ‘Dance the Dance‘ and returned from a European mini tour including the prestigious ‘Europavox’ Festival held annually in Auvergne, France will be opening the festival. If there’s a band specializing in cutting satire and social commentary then it must be the Maltese folk act ‘BRIKKUNI’ who have just released their 2nd album entitled ‘Trabbok’  combining  the clever use of the Maltese language and Indie Folk promising a second slot which will definitely set the mood for the festival. ‘IRA LOSCO’ who needs no introduction, fresh after launching her brand new hit single ‘What I’d Give ‘enjoying massive support both locally and overseas will hit the stage next . Following a hiatus this will be Ira Losco’s first public appearance this year where the artist is expected to give a sneak preview of what to expect from her much anticipated new album making her performance undoubtedly worth waiting for. Followed by The popular Maltese rock band ‘AIRPORT IMPRESSIONS’ , with a string of successes for 2 consecutive years, sweeping all awards, The end of summer of festival will also mark  this as their last Live concert this year before they launch their 2nd album early next year. Following a string of successful big concerts starting from the Blues festival in Australia to their jam-packed concerts this summer, ‘TRIBALI’ will be closing the festival offering a 1 hour show. The band , who are currently promoting their 3rd successful album ’The Traveler’ , are undoubtedly the biggest live band currently in Malta marking this festival as their last show this year.

Each artist will perform for approximately 40 mins each . The choice of artists also reflects a wide spectrum of music ranging from world music, folk, rock, pop, alternative,  and all the cross over’s in between. This will definitely be an event not to be missed. This concert is well timed in view of the fact that all the performing artists simultaneously are at their peak having recently released highly acclaimed albums or are leading up to much anticipated album releases.
