What it is
JazzKlabb #13 gathers the quartet of Cutajar, Bezzina, D'Ugo and Briffa at Teatru Salesjan in Sliema on Wednesday 11 November 2026 at 8pm (doors 7pm), bringing four players together for one of the autumn editions of the theatre's long-running jazz series. It is a chance to hear local and visiting musicians stretch out in a small room built for listening.
The strength of JazzKlabb is its setting. This is a club night inside a community theatre rather than a formal concert: cabaret tables for up to four sit right in front of the stage and include complimentary light nibbles, while high standing tables and loose seating at the back are free to use. At least one guest at each table needs a Teatru Salesjan membership, with members getting the table at half price, but the free standing option keeps the night genuinely open to everyone - an unusually accessible way to catch a live jazz quartet.
Teatru Salesjan is a registered voluntary organisation supported by Arts Council Malta, and the JazzKlabb series is part of its mission to keep affordable, locally grounded culture alive at the centre of Sliema. For a visitor in November - well outside the summer rush - it is a warm, low-key evening that shows the island's own musicians at work rather than a touring spectacle.
The theatre stands on Guze Howard Street, a short walk from the Sliema seafront and easy to reach by bus or the Valletta-Sliema ferry, so it works well after an early dinner along the front. The venue is wheelchair accessible via a ramp on the terrace.
The night runs to around 9.30pm. Cabaret tables are booked through ShowsHappening, and free standing entry needs no ticket, though it is worth arriving near doors at 7pm to settle in. The full line-up and table availability are confirmed on the Teatru Salesjan website, the best place to check membership details and the latest information before you go. For an intimate, affordable autumn jazz night in a real neighbourhood venue, JazzKlabb #13 is a rewarding pick.
