Marley Fest 2019

Since its inception in 2014, Marley Fest has established itself as the annual ONE LOVE gathering and largest reggae celebration on the island in remembrance of the King of Reggae’s earthstrong: ROBERT NESTA AKA BOB MARLEY FEBRUARY 6, 1945 - MAY 11, 1981.

BOB MARLEY’S legacy goes beyond reggae music and the event is an occasion to remember the important messages behind the lyrics; bringing people together every year through music the event also aims to promote inclusion and diversity while dancing and singing along the sweet rhythms of reggae music.

A simple goal, an amazing event and an important message behind it.

Exotic, Luxury and Supercars at Mellieha in Aid of Puttinu

Societa' Filarmonica La Vittoria together with motorsmt will be once again organizing a Car Show in aid of Puttinu. This year we are inviting owners of Exotic, Luxury and Supercars to show their cars at the Parish Square of Mellieha next Sunday 10th of March 2019. This is part of a sports Marathon happening throughout the whole weekend.

Those participating shall let us know their intention of doing so by sending us a message on motorsmt. Every car driver is to pay €10 (for Puttinu) and get a ticket for a free plate of pasta and a drink from the restaurant at the Club of Societa' Filarmonica La Vittoria.

The plan is that cars meet in the car park in front of the American Embassy in Ta' Qali at 8.00 so that at 9.00 we follow each other to be at Mellieha at 9.30.

Paul Caruana revives long-lost voices in latest exhibition of watercolours

Distant voices may be discerned in the silent city as from Friday 4th October, as Palazzo de Piro in Mdina will host a distinctive watercolour exhibition by Maltese artist Paul Caruana. On view until 31st October, the exhibition entitled ‘Seeing Voices’ will be inaugurated by President Emeritus Dr Ugo Mifsud Bonnici. Inspired by the artist’s childhood memories, everyday life instances and village characters, the exhibition will showcase 20 new watercolour paintings.

Caruana said: “‘Seeing Voices’ is an attempt to recapture particular characters and memorable instances from my childhood, recollections which I can vividly remember but cannot hear anymore. Through these paintings, I am hoping to elicit a smile from those old enough to have their own fond memories, while providing younger generations with a visual presentation of how back in the day, life was simpler, yet still as colourful.”

‘Seeing Voices’ is Caruana’s 13th solo exhibition, the previous exhibition entitled ‘Ħrejjef ta’ …

Mr. Evans will be performing from 16:00 till 18:00 with a Karaoke session with the Grand Return to our stage the One & Only Joseph B from 19:00 till 22:00 for anyone is welcome to try his/her vocals :-).
